Here’s how to deal with negativity and judgement which is something we all have to deal with on a daily basis. It’s a fact us human’s are surrounded by negativity everywhere we go in our lives but we always have a choice if we get involved in this behaviour or not. This could be in your relationship, online, within your family, friendships or workplace.

Together we are going to explore two aspects with the first one looking at how not to get drawn into other people’s negativity. Then we explore our own mindset and how this affects our negativity and judgement. Let’s get started.

How to not get drawn into other’s people’s negative conversations

I’m going to paint a picture for you. You are sitting at your desk at your workplace or your business, or on the sofa with your family or your partner. This person is bitching and complaining about someone you know really well. In this moment you can decide whether you want to get involved in the conversation by judging or being negative about this person. You know when you go down the path of joining in you feel rotten afterwards because you didn’t mean to say those things. You feel your energy vibration is lower and your mood changes . Does this sound familiar? I understand I have been there and I’m still learning to remain out of judgemental situations.

So what can you do to protect your energy and keep away from the negatively in these moments? The first thing is to be comfortable with been in your own power and who you are as a person. When you are in alignment with who you are as a person you have no problem stepping out of these situations or speaking your voice, about how you don’t feel comfortable in these situations. Most people will respect your honestly and will happily go else where if they wish to continue on. So next time you are in this situation just give it a try and stand up for what you belief in.

Learn how to deal with your own judgement and negative thoughts

Looking close to home is often where most of the negativity and judgement starts from, which is your own head. It’s a fact our thoughts are so noisy and they are moving around in your head all the time. I want you to stop right now by closing your eyes just for one minute and listen closely to what your thoughts are saying to you. Are they been positive or negative? Are your thoughts been judgemental? Let me give you a couple of examples I have come across in my career.

What will people think of me?

Do I look fat in this dress?

What if I get no new clients this month? (One for the business owners here).

Have you had or experienced similar thoughts in your own head? We are often our own harshest critic, when we are battling own negative thoughts and judgement it’s too easy for us to get involved in this around us. Here’s how we can flip our thoughts so we can think in a more positive way. I will let you in on a secret, it’s all about quietening the noise in your own mind and looking at the thought patterns that keep reoccurring in our thoughts. I would suggest mediation as the number one way to quieten your mind as it’s easy to do this anywhere and it’s for free. If this isn’t for you maybe instead you prefer exercise or going to the spa this is ok just find what works for you. For me getting my thoughts out of my own head as I love writing what I am feeling, it’s a sense of relief to get the thoughts out of my head. Then I also have a clearer picture of where I am so I know which area I need to work on.

We have now looked at our own thoughts and how to not get involved in the negativity and judgement of others. As you can see with most things it starts within you and your own mindset. Living in your own power reflects who your true self is, when you are like this you will be able to be in more positive situations and live a negative free life.

I want to challenge you today to spend 5 minutes alone with your thoughts. This could be in a meditation, with your journal or doing your daily exercise.
